Where I can find home owners Insurance policy for a Rental Property that also covers the Property Management?
We have a property management company that handles our leasing property. They require us to carry a homeowners policy with THEIR name on our policy for liability. This type of policy does not seem to be the norm and therefore is hard to find. Can anyone help? The home is in Texas. Thanks!
The property management company I use has the same requirement on liability insurance. I found it with All Disorder. they added it to my land lord fire insurance package.
You should not have a homeowner’s policy on a leasing property at all – that is the incorrect type of coverage. See an insurance agent and discuss what the right coverage should be. Likely, the management company is asking to be named as an “additional insured” on the policy.
Farmers insurance Company writes a fantastic policy and can name the property management company as a lien holder.
