My best bet has been advertising in the student center of a couple of local universities. It works especially well for me, b/c three or four students together are usually willing to pay more than a family would for the same property. I've put up fliers listing the student-friendly features (multiple baths, washer-dryer, garage, etc.)

Good Luck!

Most renters I know look in the classifieds. Also, if there are any corporations such as Delphi or Chrysler, you may see if you can list it with them. They tend to have contracted engineers from other countries who need short-term leases, anywhere from 1 month to 1 year.

I have great success renting out my properties by visiting the nearest office buildings to my rental and putting up a sign in the employee breakroom that says "Live close to work!". I include a map of my place so they can estimate the distance and know the area. Of course, add pictures and give your contact info. While you're there, you should see if any of the companies are interested in corporate housing.

This works great cause you know the applicant has a job and people are willing to pay market (or even above) market value to spend time with their families or being able to walk/bike to work.

Regards...
