Who governs the board of directors and the property management company of condo complexes?

My son’s car was broken into while parked in our carport. The only way to access the carport is by a key. When we approached two board members, they would not help us obtain the security tape. My son was then told that there is no tape, but images from the internet and that the person who has access was not home. They would not tell my son anything other than his name. This isn’t the first encounter with this board or the management company. We had a neighbor who kept us up all night. The board would not get involved, although the CC&R’s have a noise clause. When I requested a copy of the clause, I was ignored. I was told to call the police and keep calling them. I would like to file a complaint but don’t know who or where. We live in Southern California.

Do i have to pay property tax penalty if management pays tax late on a co-op?

I own a co-op on nassau new york,management payed property tax late and i received abill for $3000.I refused to pay,but i was thraten with eviction and repossess of co-op ,i pay the rent on time every month.Thanks.

I’ve lived at my place for 8yrs as of May and Ive only bounced one check with them back in 02. But the story is I payed rent in March, then in April, but when I went to pay my taxes I saw that the check for the month of March had not cleared yet so off went my tax payment and I called my property management and told them to look into it, they said they had not recieved a check for the month of March so basically the check is lost so I stop payment and re-issue a check for that month, and I also give them a check for the month of May well one of the checks cleared but the other one did’nt, I deposited money into the account this evening but they already returned the check. I feel so bad,drained, and embarrased, the manager of my place is always so rude how should I approach this situation?

A lien was put on my property by a friend that was doing property management, How do I rebuke this?

A lady I worked with offered to help us rent out our house while we were living overseas. We sent her a contract to sign, but she refused to sign it saying, she was just doing to to help us out, and that she would not charge us. We accepted her help because we were desperate and now living overseas. She managed to get us renters, but never sent us a rental aggreement, a signed lease, or anything. She always sent the rent to us very late, and did not do anything we asked as far as direct deposit, or collecting fees. We finally had enough, and decided to sell our house. She became upset with us, after we had Century 21 take over the property management. Now, she is saying we owe her money for services she claimed she did. She hasn’t sent us any notification that she did any of these said items, other than make up a list of things on her computer. She actually put a lien on our home saying that we owe her. These are false claims, and I want to send some kind of burden of proof.?

how many tasks is it realistic to expect 1 inexperienced, part time person to do in Property Management?

This is all new to me. I’m Managing about 50 units. and I can only work about 20 hours a week. I hire out Maintenance. Other than that I’m expected to do everything, and i mean everything. Does this even sound possible?

I just graduated from college and am actively pursuing a career in commercial real estate. I know the industry isn’t doing very well at the moment, but it is something ive always wanted to do. I am not sure which direction to go into though. I don’t want to be a broker or an agent, and was thinking trying to get involved in the development side of things, such as property management. Does anybody have any experience in the field, and if so, could you give me some advice?

I manage 50 units and I want to be able to collect rent online. Has anyone tried http://www.trexglobal.com ? Seems pretty easy and nice just want to make sure I’m not missing something.
