Can my property management company change my locks?

I signed a lease for a commercial office. My partner fell out and left with the money. I have been in the office for about 3 to 4 weeks. I gave them half of the money it cost to move in which was $2,000 $1,000 for deposit and $1,000 for first month so they have recieved a thousand. They want to change the locks until I pay the rest of the monay. Can they do that or do they have to go thru another process?

Of course they can. Your lease should clarify non-payment terms.

Commercial property is not the same as residential. They can change the locks w/o any court order if you are not paying the agreed amount. Could and would are different though, you should talk to them about when you plan to pay them. They have the right to lock the doors and seize anything inside at this point though.
